New green spaces and homes for Stanmore

Stanmore Gardens Ltd, a local developer, is preparing plans to transform an underused car park in Stanmore, behind the Broadway, part of which is used by Lidl.

Parking for Lidl and other existing commercial tenants will be re-provided in the new plans, along with space for new shops, public green space, co-working space for all to use, and different types of new homes.

The new spaces will help create a safer, livelier and more welcoming town centre. As the site has already been developed before, building here also helps protect Harrow’s Green Belt, something we know many local residents care about.

Before we submit a planning application, we are engaging with the local community and stakeholders to understand local priorities. We have completed a first consultation from 6th – 20th July 2026, and will be reviewing feedback accordingly. A second consultation will be held once this feedback has been taken into account and the plans have been amended.
